Travel around the world

It has been an eventful year.   When I was growing up if someone had told me that I would visit 8 countries in 12 months it would have sounded magical but I would not have believed them.  It would have felt like a distant dream.

Well, in the last year, I lived that dream.  Partly because of work, partly from tagging along with family members speaking at conferences, and partly because of vacations I took, I had a most eventful travel year, visiting several places outside of the typical travel itinerary.

I hope to capture what I saw, did, and experienced in the next few blog posts.  From the prosaic to the unexpected, it has been a year filled with memorable events.
